Henry was educated at St. Saviour's School, Paddington, London. His parents address was 102 Finchley Road, South Hampstead, London, England. He arrived in Australia c. 1900.

His occupation was Labourer when he enlisted in Liverpool, NSW on 29 December 1914 and served in the 2nd Battalion A.I.F.

Henry departed Sydney on the 'Seang Choon' 11 February 1915 and served in Gallipoli then France.

He was wounded in action in France 22 February 1916 (shrapnel wound to cheek) and was invalided to England. He returned to France on active service in September 1916.

Lance Corporal Henry Charles LILLYWHITE died of wounds received in action on 28 December 1916 at the 3rd Australian Field Ambulance France on 29 December 1916 age38.
